Abbie Cornish got engaged to MMA fighter Adel Altamimi on Valentine’s Day. The Australian actress surprised her fans the next day (Friday) by announcing her engagement via Instagram stories.
The Sucker Punch (2011) actress also talked with Daily Mail Australia and told them the following.
We are both very very happy, as are our family and friends.
After February 15, Cornish has posted several images of Adel Altamimi on her Instagram account. In almost every update she expressed her feelings about her other half.
Like, how grateful she is to have him in her life and how much she respects and love the guy. In one of the image updated seven days ago, she captioned the following.
“You are the man of my dreams @adelkyokushin. I’m so happy we found each other here on this earth. You make me so happy. I can’t wait to start a family with you my love.”
About five days ago the couple shared the MMA mat and both shared images on their official Instagram accounts. Adel Altamimi captioned, “Last week she said yes to marrying me, today she said yes to being my partner in the mat. I love you so much @abbiecornish”

The story of Adel’s life is really heart-breaking. He was born and raised in Baghdad, Iraq. As he grew up, his destiny made him a recruit of U.S. Marines. He was contracted by the U.S military to drive convoys.
Unfortunately, along with his friends, Adel was captured and held hostage by Al-Qaeda.
Altamimi witnessed the horrible act of his cousin and close friend being decapitated. According to Entertainment Tonight, he was about to meet the same fate as them but fortunately, U.S. Marines broke through the Al-Qaeda base and rescued Altamimi just before he was to be executed.
Now Adel lives in Los Angeles and works as a fitness trainer at the Unbreakable MMA gym. Gym members list includes the names of several celebrities, former combat veterans, and ex NFL stars.
Some of the celebrities that come to Unbreakable MMA gym are Wiz Khalifa, Demi Lovato, and Chris Pratt.
Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt has a nice friendship with Adel Altamimi.
