Mudbound, the upcoming drama got a new lease on life after the entertainment giant Netflix decided to release it.
The movie got an outstanding response at its screening at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Based on the struggle of the men against the racial tensions in Deep South in Mississippi after returning from World War 2, the movie is gathering praises for its great acting and screenplay.
Directed by Dee Ree, The star cast includes Jason Clarke, Carey Milligan, Garrett Hedlund and singer Mary J. Blige.
Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos along with Comedy Star Adam Sandler watched the movie and got super impressed.
The decision to buy the movie was almost immediate and the main propagator was Adam Sandler.
The producer Cassian Elwes explained that even after the film’s premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January, the movie was not having any distribution deal.

Elwes passionately recollects about the dramatic deal that Sandlers made with the producer.
He said, ‘What was the biggest deal that was made this week at Sundance?’”
[Elwes replied] “The Big Sick” sold for $12 million.” “Sandlers said, ‘I’ll pay $12 and a half million- I want to win.’”
Elwes started to idolize Adam Sandler after that.
He added: “We’ve built a little shrine to Adam Sandler in our office now…we’ve put some ‘Mudbound’ posters up next to it and we have little candles now in front of Adam’s face!”
Elwes says, “Every day we come in and say a prayer: ‘Thank you, Adam Sandler!’”
He doesn’t want the movie to miss out on Oscar Prospects and for the same purpose, The Grand Premiere of “Mudbound” is slated to be in November with a limited theatrical release.
He said: “This was made as a movie, it will be released theatrically as a movie and Netflix is going to do all everything that they can to make sure people know it’s a film. Hopefully, the Academy will view it in the same way.”
